LSF Titanium Forged Titanium 12-Point Lug Nut (M12x1.5, Conical Seat, Single Nut)
Weight is the enemy of speed, and every little bit matters on a performance oriented car. With this is mind, LSF Titanium offers the ultimate Forged Titanium 12-point M12x1.5 conical seat lug nut for your vehicle. Reducing critical unsprung weight right at the wheels helps improve braking, handling, and acceleration. LSF: Lighter. Stronger. Faster.
Reduced Rotational Inertia: Because lug nuts rotate with the wheel, there is less rotational inertia, slightly reduced drivetrain losses, and a small improvement in transient acceleration. While the performance gain is modest, reducing rotating mass is a recognized engineering principle.
Precision Manufacturing: Hot forging followed by CNC finish machining provides excellent concentricity, accurate seat geometry, excellent thread quality, and consistent clamping loads.
Light Weight Matters: Our finished lug nuts weigh under 1/3 the weight of some factory lug nuts–success!
- Factory Volvo Lug Nut: 2.1oz / 60g
- LSF Titanium Lug Nut: .6oz / 18g
The Forged Difference: Most titanium lug nuts on the market are machined from bar stock material, a less expensive approach to manufacturing. Our optimized hot forging process:
- Aligns the grain structure
- Eliminates interrupted grain
- Improves fatigue life
- Improves impact resistance
- Produces a denser part
The Manufacturing Process: Starting with certified GR5=Ti 6ai-4v titanium material (one of the best strength-to-weight ratios of any engineering metal), our lug nuts undergo a multi-step process:
- The titanium slug is super heated using an induction heating coil to 1000C / 1830F until it glows bright orange.
- The glowing slug is quickly transferred to a precision mold where a high pressure press stamp forges it into its initial shape.
- Once cooled, the formed lug nut undergoes multiple machining processes to shape the seat, precision cut the internal threads, and finish the top.
- The lug nuts are then laser etched for identification.
TWELVE is better than SIX: A 12-point nut has more engagement points, giving the socket more places to grip, which can reduce the chance of slipping or rounding under high torque. Most sockets are 6-point, and therefore incompatible with the 12-point lug nuts, offering a level of theft protection.
Low Thermal Conductivity: Titanium transfers heat much more slowly than steel, with less heat conducted from brakes into the wheel stud and nut.
In It For The Long Run: Unlike chrome-plated steel, our pure titanium lug nuts will not peel, flake or allow rust underneath as titanium is naturally corrosion resistant. Some factory lug nuts are a multi-piece product with an outer shell that often breaks off, leaving you with a nut that your standard socket easily strips. This is why we focused on creating a one-piece solution.
Our open ended nuts allow for longer studs to pass through and look racecar inspired.
Fits factory and aftermarket wheels with 60 degree taper cone seat (not ball seat style wheels).
This is for one single Titanium Lug Nut
